Bungalow 99

Bungalow 99
Originally designed for rental to an embassy or international body, as four airy spacious clean lined apartments with ample stilt parking and a common basement, this building on a leafy corner plot in Delhi’s Defence Colony found its new avatar as the very successful small boutique hotel Bungalow 99.
Featured among other international publications in the Telegraph of UK, its rooms with furniture and decor by Pio Coffrant are a favourite home away from home for a clientele comprising international designers , journalists , authors and others who find themselves in Delhi for extended periods of time for work related reasons ( people even have their favourite rooms which they pre-book months in advance).
The exterior aesthetic is formed largely by the sliding screens along the front and West which shade the interiors from Delhi’s hot westerly summer sun when needed but allow glimpses of the greenery surrounding the building. The planning A simple palettes of materials used in the interior finishes allow pride of place to the green views through extensive openings all around while unusual materials enliven the bathrooms.
